Now that I am back home in the UK, I have had time to recover from "Jet
Lag" caused by the time difference between our two countries.
I still live with the memories of my exciting trip to Nanning, I was
totally impressed by the beauty of your city, and the wonderful parks, lakes and
rivers in your province. For me it has left a lasting impression which
will never fade away, and I hope that at some time in the future I may be able
to revisit Nanning once more.
Above all, was the wonderful hospitality of everyone that I met, and
it is only a pity that I cannot speak Mandarin, for it would have made that
extra difference. Even so, everyone made me feel most welcome, and that of
course includes yourself and your lovely group of people from the Nanning
Astronomical Society. Your welcome dinner party was overwhelming, and a
moment in my visit that I will surely remember always.
I would like to thank you so much for that wonderful hospitality and
friendship that you showed toward me, and I hope that this can cement a
permanent relationship between our two societies. I would be grateful if
you can please pass on my best wishes and many thanks to all of the members of
your society who attended the dinner party, it was truly great to meet with you
all...................Xie xie, to all of you.
In closing, I would like to ask that if you have copies of the pictures
taken at our meeting, can you please copy them and send by e-mail. They will
make a wonderful record of my visit with you all.
Again, thank you so much for everything, please keep in touch,
Your friend and fellow astronomer, in Plymouth, England.
